Many visitors consider Bergen to be Norway's most beautiful city. Why is that? Come and see for yourself and find yourself mesmerised by Bergen's maritime charm on this tour. On the tour, we'll familiarise you with Bergen's most important sights, such as the Bryggen in the Hanseatic Quarter and St Mary's Church, through telling interesting and amusing stories. In doing this, however, I don't just want to bring you closer to the historic sides of the city, but to the people of Bergen as they live here and now as well.

Practical information on the tour:

When & Where

  • May – September / Tuesday – Sunday
  • Start: 10:00 – (this tour only runs once a day.)
  • Duration: 2 hours
  • Language: English
  • The tour ends at St Mary's Church.
  • Please be at the meeting point 10 minutes before we start. The tour begins on time. The tour guide cannot be contacted by phone during the tour.

Tickets

  • Tickets are available here on the website and at the Tourist Information Office in Bergen; any remaining tickets can be obtained at the meeting point before the tour starts.
  • Tickets can be cancelled up to 24 hours before the tour begins with a full refund. Cancellations can only be made by sending an email to: info@martinsbergentours.com.

    Children from 6 years up to
    and including 15 years: NOK 150

    Children from 0 up to
    and including 5 years: free of charge

  • The meeting point is the steps leading
up to the Tourist Information Office (see photo).

Further information

  • Group size: minimum of 2 people, maximum of 16
  • The tour is not suitable for wheelchair users or parents with prams.
  • The distance covered during the tour is approx. 2.5 km.
  • There are no scheduled toilet breaks during the tour. You will be able to use the public toilet in the Fish Market before the tour begins (for a fee / only card payments accepted).
  • Please pay attention to the weather forecast for the time at which the tour is taking place and dress accordingly. Please remember that we will be making lots of stops during the tour. Wind and rain can make the weather feel colder than it actually is, so bring an umbrella even if the chance of rain is only slight.
