What was life like in Norway during the Second World War? On this special tour, we go back to the years of the German occupation and explore a chapter of Norwegian history whose impact can still be felt today. The focus is not only on military and political events, but above all on the people and their everyday lives: fear, adaptation, resistance, propaganda, shortages, hope, and the difficult choices many had to make.
At selected locations in Bergen, history becomes tangible and easier to understand. You will learn about the role Norway played in the war, why the country was of such strategic importance to Germany, and how the occupation affected the lives of the Norwegian people. At the same time, the tour looks at the local traces of this period and at how Norway remembers the years from 1940 to 1945 today.
If you are interested in history and would like a deeper understanding of Norway and its past, this tour is an impressive addition to a classic city walk.
